Last Mother's Day I was introduced to *Real Simple* magazine. I'd seen the magazine around the salon I work at, but never had time to pick it up and look through it. To my surprise, I discovered this magazine was my guilty escape from the 'heavier' articles we are bombarded with daily.

When my first issue arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the magazine was made up of short articles on home organizing, beauty and style, food, quick tips, trends, etc. You know... mostly chick-stuff. I think the difference between this magazine and other women's magazines, is that it doesn't drone on-and-on about a topic. It just gets right to the point about a subject, and moves on to the next. For me, this is good! Sometimes I just want to pick up something to read, grab some useful tidbits and be entertained. No celebrities going to rehab, or divorcing... no Aliens abducting small babies... just a quick, fun read!

One thing I don't like, (as with many other magazines), is the bunches of advertising inserts. The first thing I do its tear those out. Overall, this is an affordable, fun magazine. Sometimes you just want something light, yet informative to read, and this magazine is it! Like the name says, it's "Real Simple".
