This phone was my mother's. Once she passed on, I ended up with it. I must say mom new best. This phone is awesome. It comes with a built in answering machine. I save lots there. I don't have to pay the phone company each month for their answering machine services. It has a greeting or you can add your own. It also has a record your memos option and caller ID. It even has speaker phone. Which has come in handy from time to time around here. The one thing that I truly love about this phone is that if the power goes out I can still use it. Where with my cordless phones, I cant. The caller ID doesn't work when the power goes out though. But hey at least I am not stuck without a phone with four children. I am also surprised that this phone being only a General Electic brand that it has all these features and is what I call a realiable phone 27/7.

Do you know what the retail price is? I need a new phone in the worse way. We don't have a caller ID-enabled one and it drives me crazy that I can screen (yes, I admit that I screen!).
I had one of these and absolutely loved the phone. I agree, it is sturdy reliable and has all the really useful features.
You are so right-with you having four kids & if you need a phone when the power goes out, you have this!! It still looks brand new!
Yes, we will always make sure there is one corded phone in the house. My favorite is my GE desk phone. Not a size they make any more, so it has to last forever, and so far, so good.
