Recaro Como Convertable Car Seat
By kateri27 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011This carseat is a godsend! It goes up to 70 pounds that is by far the heaviest convertable car seat I have ever seen.
I initially liked it because of the color scheme, but I bought it because of it's Side Impact Protection.Think about it, isn't it worth a little bit of extra money to ensure should your car get hit from the side your child has the highest level of protection avaiable.
I was initially seduced by the Britax seats, after all they are supposed to be the best. But I grabbed both seats by the sides and did a quick squeeze together.I have to say the britax had a little too much give for my liking.I felt like it would not protect my daughter. This seat is also very comfortable! It has LATCH so it is easy to attach in the rear-facing position.
I just love this seat!
Update On Apr 25, 2008: We are actually buying a second Recaro for our second car (and eventually our second child). My husband just won't settle for anything less then Recaro.
Update On Apr 28, 2008: They recently had a recall of sorts. There are two clips that needed to be attached for the safety of this product.Recaro sent my notification and the clips not once, but twice to ensure that we knew about the recall and had the proper parts to fix the car seat (which took all of 1 minute!)
Update On Dec 14, 2009: , but after three years it really needs a new seat cover or at least a seat protector. It is looking well worn.

I have never heard of this brand...sounds nice though!
Sounds like a great company. I like it when they are responsible.
Maybe because we don't have that place around here, is why i have never heard of this car seat. Safety is my first concern when putting a child in it.
