Red Cross Emergency Radio By JOEY on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

This is another very nice radio. Made by the folks at ETON it comes with am/fm/sw reception. It has an emergency light built into it. It has a hand crank to recharge the batteries and is solar powered as well. A very nice touch. They call this one the Solarlink American Red Cross FR-500.

The one I used was white. It certainly felt pretty well made to the touch but I wondered as I always do about what type of reception I would get. Being a ham radio operator thats the first thing that always comes to mind.

I felt it received well for the 80.00 price tag so I was satisfied with the performance overall. I really liked the ability to power it up with the hand crank and the solar power. If I was in the market for such an item I would not hesitate to consider this one.
