Reese's Peanut Butter Cups By Ferret By ferret on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Eighty-five years ago, there were no Reese's Peanut Butter Cups on the planet! I find that shocking.
I am grateful that I live in a world full of little square packages wrapped in orange paper with yellow lettering and the promise of what's inside. I know each time I remove the accordian pleated brown paper from this delectible little cup, I am in for an amazing treat.
Looking at an untouched Reese's Butter Cup is like viewing a work of art, to any buttercup lover, that is. Reese's Butter Cups are beautiful, plain and simple. From that subtle chocolate covered indentation over peanut butter filling on top, to it's more obvious presence underneath, Reese's Butter Cups are usually consumed too quickly to appreciate their true beauty.
I love Reese's Butter Cups. I prefer the regular sized cups over the mini ones for some reason and I do not enjoy the holiday shaped Reeses candy as much as the regular sized cup. I feel there is too much peanut butter filling in those.
If Hershey's keeps making Reese's Butter Cups the way they have been, the way H.B. Reese created them, they will always be one of my favorite candies.
