Relax At Disney's Port Orleans Riverside By justjill on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Walt Disney World in Florida offers various levels and types of resorts for vacationers to choose from. They offer Value resorts, Moderate resorts, and the Deluxe resorts.
Port Orleans Riverside is a Moderate resort. It may be moderate in price, but it is packed high in value! When you enter you feel like you are in Louisiana! There are 2 sides to Port Orleans Riverside. The Bayou and the Mansions. The Bayou can sleep up to 5 people and has a rustic feel to it. The Mansions offer southern elegance in the decor both inside and out. Rooms in both of these sections are identical in size and design, but differ in indoor and outdoor decor and ambiance.
There is a great pool with a slide on Ol' Man Island that has lifeguards and a Pool Bar. There is a fishing hole here too! Each section of the resort on both the bayou and mansion sides offer "quiet" pools without slides or lifeguards.
Port Orleans Riverside also offers a food court with varying types of food for everyone to choose from. A drink station is in the center where customers can fill and refill their own cups or mugs (refillable mugs can be purchased). Boatwright's Dining Hall is a full service restaurant and Fulton's General Store is a gift shop with sundries, souvenirs, etc.
The arcade is a nice place to unwind or visit in inclement weather. My children really enjoy it. You can rent a surrey bike and ride around the resort or even take a boat to Downtown Disney! And if you want a change of pace, walk down to Riverside's sister resort, Port Orleans French Quarter and try their food court!
Great Disney vacations start with staying in a Disney resort and Port Orleans Riverside is one of our favorite places to visit.
Disney Port Orleans Riverside

This sounds great! We have decided that on our next trip to Disney we'd like to stay at a resort so I'll keep this one in mind.
This is our all time favorite place to stay at Disney and we've tried a great many of the resorts on property. My only wish is that the food court stayed open later!!
I've wanted to stay here for a long time, back when it was still Dixie Landings! My Fiance and I will be staying here in October and I can't wait! The pictures of the resort are so beautiful.
Port Orleans is one resorts we have not stayed in yet. We said the next time we go to Disney we are staying at one of the Port Orleans, although you make Riverside sound nice I think we are leaning towards French Quarters but we will take a walk over to Riverside ;)
wow, looks very, very relaxing and such a scenic place to be...
My neighbors stay there all the time and really give it a thumbs up..
This so far is our most favorite Disney Resort. Love the area and the boat rides to Downtown Disney. So relaxing.
