Relief For Summer Allergies By Chocollette on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

Fluticasone Propionate is the generic form of the nasal spray Flonase and this has been a true God send to me this summer as I have seasonal allergies. I had never had seasonal allergies before this year and actually did not know I had them until my ears were clogged and I dragged myself to the doctor for some relief. She looked in my nose, did a double take and looked in my nose again! My nose was so swollen with gunk! My doctor was very surprised that I could breathe! I had not been able to sneeze for a few months to relieve pressure in my nose and ears so my doctor prescribed the Fluticasone Propionate.

Every day, once a day, a person inhales two sprays per nostril. There are 120 metered sprays in each 50 mcg bottle so this does last a long time. There are some side effects to this medicine including headaches, nosebleeds, and vomiting but thankfully, I have not experienced any of these.

I did go to my doctor for a follow-up check up to see if this is working and she did confirm that my nose is less swollen so I will continue to use this throughout the summer. I can now sneeze freely and can hear a lot better!!!!
