We purchased this ReliOn humidifier a few months ago when my daughter was sick with RSV. Her pediatrician suggested it. We didn't get to shop around and pretty much just bought the first one we saw because we needed it fast. This one was at a pretty good price so we went with it.
This humidifier is very quiet. This was a huge improvement from another one we had. It has two moisture settings and is very easy to fill up. You just pull up the tank, fill it up, and place it directly back on. Very simple! It runs 24-36 hours on one tank (depending on the setting) and one tank equals 1.25 gallons of water. The dry air is pulled through and the system blows out invisible moisture-balanced air. Minerals and bacteria are trapped inside the filter. You can feel a slight breeze of cold air coming out of the system but you can not see the mist. That is one downfall for me I really wish you could see the mist.
The system is pretty small, 10 x 9 x 10 and only 4 pounds. You do have to replace the filter often and even more if there is smoke or pets in the house.
Overall this is a nice humidifier for the price. I do feel a difference in the room and my allergies have been a lot better since getting this. I would suggest the ReliOn.

Sounds great though, can you put medication in it. I remember my mom putting vicks in the one she used. Believe it or not I loved it! Even now when I get stuffed up I want vicks! :}
I also have this and you are right it is weird that you can't see the mist, but we go through several tanks a week so it must be working.
Looks like a pretty good deal for the price. Don't you love it when you get lucky on a fast purchase?!
Sounds like you went for a quick good deal and it worked out to be just what you were looking for. I have not shopped around for humidifiers in a long time but after having terrible eye pain because the house was so dry this winter, we decided we need one before next year. Is it hard to clean?
We really need one of these, but every winter we just never seem to get around to buying one.

I have not had the best of luck with humidifiers. Nice to read a positive experience with one.
