Reviewing: Remington Smooth And Silky Epilator

Let me see..what can I say about this product? How about OUCH! I was hopeful when I first purchased this product but quickly decided that pain was not something I was willing to endure just to get rid of some leg hair. Simply put, pulling your hair out by the roots hurts. And that is exactly what this product does...it pulls the hair out by the root. Of course, I knew that when I bought it but I was drawn in by the hype about how it is virtually painless. Yeah right. The areas I was able to defoliate did stay smooth for a long time but there was no way I could have endured it for an entire leg. Luckily, I wrote to Remington and explained my disappointment and they exchanged the epilator for a regular rechargeable womens shaver. It didn't provide as close a "shave" but at least it was painless. Proceed with caution if you are considering an epilator.

It's funny how easily we all accept the hype on stuff like this. I would have bought one too. Thanks for sparing me!

I am considering an epilator but I am terrified. Maybe I'll just research some electric shavers. Regular razors are just getting too expensive.

OUCH :( Sorry to hear that it hurt to use this product. I was afraid that would be the case, one of the reasons I never even thought about buying this product. I will stick to my razor and shaving cream. Good that you got something you could use instead. It's always smart to contact the company and tell them of the problem. Sometimes you get something great in return!

Now here is an area that hasn't evolved that much! We always used to use a razor, and we still find it gives the best (most pain free) results!

The thought of an epilator just makes me cringe. I tried one many years ago. Isn't it amazing what we will do to have smooth legs?

I have seen these things around, but I have never been courageous enough to buy one. Thanks for your bravery in even trying this product and giving us the information. I certainly know to say away from this one.

Is this one of those with the round spinning coil looking thing? It's supposed to gently remove hair? I bought one once, because of the lasting, painless, and hyped up effects too. I opened it up all excited and ready...I screamed, I cried, I threw the thing in the trash! If I only had my wits about myself I would have exchanged it. The pain took over my common sense. Thanks for the painful memories...

Yes, it was similar to what you described.
