Reviewing: Renault Megane 1,5 D Ci (2006) Authentique
Purchased at: Renault

Pros: Mega fuel economy (50.5 MPG or 4.7 litre/100km). Good looks (although this is subjective). Well built, good interior quality. Lots of comfort features and spec levels for the price. Well refined common-rail diesel engine. Sound system is also of a high quality - good speakers. Electric steering makes parking very easy.

Cons: Have had to fix front indicator lights twice already. Short service intervals - once every 10000km, but this is pretty much standard for diesel engines. Interior cloth gets dirty easily. Electric steering can bother some people because it feels "lifeless" but I would prefer it any day because of easy parking.

What I would like different: I would say go for the Dynamique spec level, even though it costs more - but it also has magnesium alloy wheels and climate control.

Would I buy one again?: I would buy one again yes. I would just opt for a bit higher spec levels, I would go for leather seats again. Fuel economy is out of this world, I reach at least a 1100km on a 60 litre tank. However, if you can live with a slightly smaller size car, go for the Clio 1,5 dCi. Has the same great engin, and the comfort is also very high (and I believe the Clio is a better looking car).
