Rent The Musical On Broadway By tinkerbelle22 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Rent is a Broadway musical that is playing at the Nederlander Theatre in New York City. It is a popular rock musical that is based on the classic opera La Boheme.

It is really interesting to see the story of La Boheme in such a different setting. Rent brings that story to the lower east side of New York City in the 1990s. It is basically about people who are struggling to survive when issues like drugs and AIDS are taking control of them.

The music in Rent is very good and has a rock sound to it. The song "Seasons of Love" is definitely the most popular and inspirational song in the show. The actors have great voices that brings these songs to life.

There really is not much scenery in the show. It is mainly just some tables and chairs, but it actually works pretty well, and makes you feel like you are looking in a small New York City apartment.

I think that Rent appeals to young people, but people of any age can relate to it and find it enjoyable as well.
