Resident Evil, the beginning of survival horror

For an older game, this is the definative release.It brought the survival horror genre into the main stream, and made the zombie cool again.Originally called Biohazard in japan, this game is about a group of police agents called S.T.A.R.S. that go investigate strange occurances outside Raccoon City.They are shot down, and run for a mansion.Inside they find all kinds of horrors.The bodies of the dead are coming back to life, along with zombie dogs and crows.The 4 members left must fight their way out.There are tons of plot twists, blood, and puzzles galore.You can either play as Jill or Chris, and it effects your storyline.This game will make you jump, just remember that.Its a longer game too, lots of backtracking and puzzles.It also sets up the umbrella corperation and later games.This was my first experience in the survival horror genre, and made the series for me.If not just for the dog going through the window,but the game is an experience to be had.
