Review Of Oxy Contin By KrycekCrack on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

OxyContin works wonders on pain! It is probably one of the most potent of the perscription pain relievers that you can get at a pharmacy. The primary ingredient is oxycodone, and it comes in various dosages: 10, 20, 40 or 80 mg; I've only ever needed the 10 mg though, 80mg is usually prescribed to those suffering from cancer or severe back pain. And unlike other pain relievers in the same family (i.e. opiates), such as hydrocodone or codeine, use of OxyContin is not accompanied by a feeling of lethargy or drowsiness. This is good, since if you need to go to work despite your injury or illness, you don't lose productivity (i.e. you don't fall asleep on the job). What makes OxyContin different from Percocet or other oxycodone-based drugs is that it does not contain acetominophen, which can damage the liver in high enough doses, but it does contain an extended-release mechanism to keep you out of pain's way for up 12 hours.
