Review Of The Alternative Imax By KrycekCrack on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

Chris Corner, frontman of the killer indietronica group Sneaker Pimps, gives an even more electronic edge to his second album under the the IAMX project. Like much of this previous work, The Alternative deals with a lot of taboo issues: incest, bisexuality, self-destructive drug use, etc. The lyrics, although not as biting as they often are in SP songs, still are able to convey an intense dissatisfaction with what makes the world turn in the comtemporary setting. To my dismay, songs on The Alternative lack the same dance-ability that I have come to expect from his previous work. Neverthless, I found this CD to be very EMOTIONALLY moving and full of profound self-reflection on the part of Corner. I highly recommend this album for both those in the indie crowd and any one interested in electronica.
