The Toyota 4Runner is a mid-size SUV that provides a lot. I have driven this car as my person car for over two years now and I can say that I have not been dissappointed. The ride is very smooth and quiet and the performance is solid. The accerlartion is very strong for an SUV and at higher speeds it provides very good feel for the road. Handling on this car is one of the best for an SUV. It responds very quick to a turn and nothing feels strained or difficult when driving this car. The gas millege is above average in my opinion for SUV's. I am getting about 19.3 mpg which is better than some sedans out there. It is a very spacious car with optional seating for eight. It has not given my any problems so far and like most japanese cars, I beleive that the reliability will continue to be there for years to come. The only complain that I can think of is the fact that this car has a very weak audio system (but that can always be upgraded). The 4Runner is a major names when one thinks of an SUV and should definitely be considered.
Great review...I've always been leery of cars that weren't "american" but now the parts and vehicles are made every which where, so I'm starting to think otherwise. It's all about quality and gas milage lately ;). Great review, voted!
Toyota makes a great car. I used to have a tercel and sold it after owning it for 5 years for 3,000 less that I originally paid for it. Can't beat quality and value on trade in.
I have a small car and a very big dog (an Akita, and a big one at that) so am seriously considering upgrading to something larger when I'm in the vehicle market again. And I have to say, it sounds like your 4-Runner is getting better mileage than my '01 Ford Focus! Which was made, I think, in Canada; you never know when you're buying American these days! (one tip: if you write another review, use spell-check). Otherwise this is a great and detailed review. Thanks!
I thought the 4Runner was one of the mini-SUVs. That seems like horrible mileage to me. Glad everything else is good, but I wouldn't be able to stand mileage that low. My Subaru Forester gets 28.
I had no idea the 4 Runner could hold 8. We currently have a Trailblazer that only holds 5 - with the infant car seat and 2 booster seats for the twins, the backseat is cramped! We are looking for a bigger SUV - I'll tell my husband about the 4Runner for sure. Great review!
Voted - nice review! I've always really liked the 4Runner's when it comes to SUV, glad to hear it lives up to mine and YOUR expectations! :o) I would definitely be interested in looking into purchasing a car like this one but I just don't think I could do it with the gas mileage...gas is way too expensive these days!
Great review...sounds like an excellent SUV. And if it seats 8, it's a pretty good size too. Glad it has worked out for you. But, with gas prices at $3.33 per gallon, as much as I drive, I am looking for at least 35 MPG. So this is out for me:0(
I need something that gets better gas mileage than an SUV. If gas ever goes back down I might consider this one. It sounds great and with lots of room too !
My dad used to have one of these as a company car for a telecommunications company he worked for. It was really nice and rode well on long trips. Thanks for an honest review!
My friend used to have this vehicle and absolutely loved it, everything about it was nice. This was the first suv that I had wanted but ended up with a durango (which i love). Not only are the 4runners nice but they are reliable. Toyota is such a great make of vehicle! i voted for u
We have a friend with one of these. She has a baby boy and found that it's easy to get her kiddo in and out... as easy as a van. Great review... thanks for sharing your experience!
Good review. I have a toyota too & you're right...they are great cars. I have considered getting an SUV before and this one sounds nice...thanks for the great, honest review.
These are great vehicles. It is on our wish list for a new vehicle. We certainly need one and I think this may be our next vehicle. thanks for sharing the information.
I have a family member who has one of these and they also love it. Thanks for the details on it. The price is a little much for us, I'm cheap lol..but if I had the money I would consider this SUV. Great review.
Very nice review and good information on this SUV. Toyota is an excellent car from all that I have read and heard from owners. I'm glad this has car has been good to you and that the gas mileage is to your liking, not lke the gas prices these days!! Nice job and voted for you :O)
I think yours is a 4th generation (first body style to offer third row seats). I have a 3rd gen (2001) and I love it. My first car was a '96 4runner, and no, I didn't get rid of it, it got handed down to a younger sibling! You can get great deals on used Toyotas, even certified pre-owned vehicles. If you maintain them they will last a long time and you won't have to pay new-car price (save some money for gas!). I've heard that a hybrid version is rumored to be in the works for the new 2010 redesign.
This is a good car. I own a '98 4runner. The audio is weak. My only other complaint is at 140,000mi I had to replace the ignition key tumbler. Good Review - i voted for you ;o)
Nice review
Yeah...great job again on this one!
I just bought a Toyota too...I love mine~!
This sounds like a great SUV & better yet, in this day & age, it gets great gas mileage! (voted)

Nice review sounds like a good vehicle but the gas mileage would kill me it is nice that you can fit 8 people though.
