My Experiences:

My hubby planned our whole honeymoon vacation himself, and did an awesome job! He booked us an all-inclusive Sandals resort vacation to Negril, Jamaica. He booked directly with Sandals because he said they gave him the best deal. He did research all over the internet and got the lowest price he could find. Then, he called Sandals and said "I have this price quoted from so and so, can you beat that?" To his surprise they did!

Our package consisted of a round trip flight, transportation to and from the resort, a 7 night stay, and all amenities the resort had to offer. It also included concierge service with out room, but that was for an optional cost.

The flight was great! We traveled with American Air and had no problems with delays or transfers. Sandals sent us a care package before our trip to make sure we knew exactly what we needed for the international flight. Once we arrived at the Jamaica airport, a man in a Sandals uniform met us at baggage claim to make sure we got to our shuttle bus. One thing we didn't expect was an airport worker took our bags and loaded them on a cart with other people heading to our shuttle. Once it was full he pushed the cart and led us to our shuttle. He then unloaded our bags from the cart and went around to each couple asking for a tip. Basically he wouldn't leave until everyone gave him something.

The shuttle stopped at 2 other resorts on the road to our Sandals resort. The driver was very funny and kept us all entertained on the hour and a half ride. You could pay extra and take a bi-plane ride to the resort, but I would suggest taking the shuttle, you get to see a lot of the culture and land on the way.

I have since looked up Sandals vacations using different travel sites, using Sandals directly, booking with a package, and booking as separate items. No matter where I looked, booking as a package always saved a few hundred dollars. Booking a package also assures you that even if your flight is delayed, someone will be there from the Sandals staff to help get you where you're going.

  7. Never been to Jamacia, but from the sounds of your review it is a must see place. I have not yet tried the all inclusive resorts either. Guess I need to check them out on my next planning session!

  12. We looked into going to Jamaca for our honesymoon as well, I have only heard good things. From the pictures and videos I have seen of any of the Sandals resorts theya re very well maintained and beautiful.

  17. You have a gem of a husband to have planned your entire honeymoon trip. He did an excellent and through job getting the best deal possible. My husband and I had a nice honeymoon but it was to a beautiful destination such as where you went. How nice this would be to go for our 3oth anniversary in two years. Maybe I will put a bug in his ear or I will show him this review and how your hubby planned it all out. How funny it must have been when the airport worker wouldn't leave without getting a tip. Or shall I say it was a little rude of him! Sounds like you had a wonderful honeymoon! I really enjoyed this review and want to go there soon!

  26. Sounds like this was a nice trip. I have always heard of this travel package but never knew anyone who had actually went on one. It's good to know that may be an option for us later on. I am all about saving some money, haha.
