I recently went on a school trip to Russia, to attend an education conference. Firstly, the school chose Aeroflot, which is the worst airline. When we got on board, we were informed that vegetarian meals had to be ordered 3 days in advance, so we went without food that day. The flight was delayed by 6 hours, which meant we spent nearly 9 hours waiting in the airport. When we reached moscow airport (which sucks by the way; airports in developing countries are better), we realised that we had missed our connecting flight to st.petersburg, which was our final destination. The aeroflot people offered us tickets on the next flights, but said that half our group would have to go by one flight, and the other half bu another. finally, after some yelling and serious threatening by our teacher/chaperone, we were given seats on one flight. The flight turned out to be some rubbish peace of aluminum, which i wonder how it got into the sky. each and every seat on it folded backwards and forwards, which resulted in people constantly pushing each other. outside the airport, i experienced racism for the first time. most russians are so illiterate, they dont know the difference between brown asians and africans. when we finally reached our hotel, it was 2 am in the morning. a splendid hotel, with stretch hummers and limos in the lot, but enter the 5 star lobby, and guess what we see? a bunch of hookers, smoking away to glory.
the conference itself was miserable, where barely anyone was serious about the work. most people outside of the conference were racist, and didnt know english, but i was surprised when some of the organisers of the conference, which by the way was a model united nations, turned out to be extremely racist!!!
overall, it was fun to be with friends, but a bad experience. the only thing i miss is the whether, since i live in a tropical area, i loved the snow.
Did you know that all revenue a review earns monthly is split with the voters that voted for that review each month?
So sorry your trip was such a disappointment. voted
