I have always wanted an SUV, but have been leery of them because of the low gas mileage. My husbands company recently gave him a Chevy Trailblazer as his new work vehicle. Since we got it four months ago it has been a love hate relationship.
What I love about it is the roominess. It trumps my Honda Civic. The seats are very comfortable, and the backseat is roomy enough to put more then one car seat in the back. There is plenty of cargo room in the back for our many shopping trips, and the dog loves having a cargo area for his ventures to the dog park. The car comes with On Star which is nice and let me tell you the one time I got lost in the middle of nowhere the turn by turn directions rocked!
What I hate about this car is the gas mileage. It gets about 14 miles per gallon and It costs close to seventy dollars to fill up the tank.
Another problem we have had with this vehicle is the remote entry. We have already had one of the two remote entry fobs break, after just four months. This is just unacceptable in my opinion.
Did you know that all revenue a review earns monthly is split with the voters that voted for that review each month?
Great review of this vehicle. Too bad about the remote entry key breaking... thanks for sharing your experience!
SUV's aren't very good on gas, that's the downfall to them. Sounds like a roomy vehicle. I agree with you regarding the keyless entry, that is unacceptable.
My sister has a Trailblazer and loves it. Unfortunately, since gas has gone up it spends most of its time in the garage.
We are on our third and love them--terrible gas mileage now that the prices are up there. Before the gas hike we didn't mind so much.
They are very nice suvs, to bad the gas prices are what they are. HAve fun with it.
I have to agree the MPG isn't that great but its a good vehicle.
I'd love an SUV too, but my little Malibu will have to do for now. The hybrids are great - if you can afford them.
Despite of gas mileage and remote entry, overall it is still a good car , moreover your husband does not need to spend a single cent to "own" it and yet has a Chervolet to drive.
love chevy suv, nice review
I guess it costs even more to fill the tank now!
At $4.79 per gallon here and rising, you aren't seeing many vehicles period on our roadways. They are nice vehicles and very very comfortable. But with no end in sight to rising gas prices, SUV's might be pretty much a thing of the past.
Thanks for sharing!
nice review
These look nice! Thanks for all the info!
We just got rid of our SUV about 5 months ago...totally agree with the mileage issue, loved it for the 4x4 go anywhere drive though. Of course, we dumped it for a 4x4 Sierra (logic? We have none)...actually, we needed something with larger haul space, it's not quite as hard on gas though but hubby writes that off anyway for business. Love the Onstar, my husband tells the kids who are drivers, that they own one of the biggest cell phones on the road :) Great review. Thanks
I have a chevy Blazer. Love it....Then when I need gas I want to cry yell and scream:)
