If you are a professional that travels you need a carry-on bag that is bullet proof, rolls easy, and an amazing warranty doesn't hurt either. Briggs & Riley luggage is all of that and more.
Their warranty is unparalled - lifetime. They will repair or replace any B & R piece you send them. I have sent in my bags a total of seven times due to damage from the airlines (I own three different bags). Each time they quickly resolved the problem and sent me a bag. Four times they repaired the bags; they replaced the bags the other three times.
This 22" rolling carry-on with suiter is a large carry-on piece that fits in the over-head bins on airplanes. I have found the 22" the ideal size for a short week of travel. The suiter panel doesn't provide much benefit to me.
This bag is balanced and the wheels are relatively soft -- providing a comfortable quiet pull.
The handle mechanism is external to the bag compartment. This allows you to pack flat w/o having to mess with the volume lost due to the mechanism.
The newer models are a little lighter.
Yes, these bags are expensive. Did you read about the lifetime warranty??

One thing I hate about my pully is that the handle is inside taking up room like you said. I think putting it on the outside is much smarter. I also love the fact that they have repaired and replaced your luggage. What a great feature of lifetime guarantee. Do you have to pay shipping when you send it in? Great review!
It has been a couple of years since I have used them, but I paid to ship and they paid for the return.
Thanks for writing a review on this. It's so hard to stuff your bag especially when you have such a tight space to put your luggage. Hopefully I can use this on long trips.

This would be a great bag for someone who travels a lot on planes.
If you don't have to worry about damage, because they will repair or replace under the warranty, it would be well worth the price.
