"Forever 27" Poster
My Experiences:
The Forever 27 poster is a piece done by Scott Lobaido. In the poster he has four rock legends, all who died at the young age of 27. Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Jimmy Hendrix and Kurt Cobain. It shows them all in a room that appears to be floating in the clouds, almost as if to imply a little room in heaven.
The neat part of the poster is that the artist has also included other things in the picture that are significant to each of the musicians. For example some of the things are: a boot with a lizard coming out of it, this is for Jim. A ball and chain is shown hanging off the side, this is for Janis. There is what looks like a purple haze mixed in with the clouds for Jimmy and a heart shaped box is on the counter for Kurt. There are other things in the picture as well, which makes it fun to figure out who each item is supposed to represent.
My favorite part of the picture is that it shows Jimmy, Jim and Janis all the way in the room, sitting down appearing to be comfortable, as if they have been there awhile. Then there is Kurt who is standing in the doorway like he just arrived.
I have this poster framed and hanging in my living room. It is a great addition to the room and if you are a music lover of any kind you should be able to appreciate the symbolizim and insight this poster has to offer into the world of rock and roll.

This would be interesting to see up close. I'm a big Janis Joplin fan! I also went to a Jimi Hendrix concert.
I would love to see this full size! I loved the young Jim Morrison (he got a little too drugged out and slimy when he got "older" if that can apply to one who died so young...) and adored Kurt Cobain. Soundslike a great poster, Good review!
