I used to be one of those computer geeks that had the cutting edge computer products. We bought the first 2xCD, etc., etc., and etc. But, since I can't work for reasons that have to due with chronic illness, my husband and I have become more frugal with our computer dollars.
In fact, horrors, we bought this Dell computer about three years ago and we have not upgraded.
Recently, my mouse (with a ball) died. I mean quit entirely. I had to hit the left button several times before it would work. I would clean the mouse and notice pieces of plastic falling out of the mouse. At first, I thought it was running slower because of bots, viruses, etc. So I would clean my computer about every half hour.
Finally, I admitted it. I needed a new mouse. And I needed a cheap new mouse.
I found this simple optical mouse with a PS2 connector. It was a very easy install. The computer recognized the mouse right away. It was very inexpensive (14.99). And it had the same feel in my hand that the Dell mouse, except I didn't have to clean the rubber ball all the time.
So it is not ergonomic. It is not a trackball. It is not a new type of wireless mouse. But hey, it works for me... and does a fine job. I like it.

Thank you.. :-)
This mouse sounds great. Sometimes simple is the best.
so true
Thanks for the info. I'm always afraid to try mixed match computer products. This may solve my slow mouse problem.
