Secondhand Lions

I firmly believe that this movie Secondhand Lions with Michael Caine, Robert Duvall, and Haley Joel Osment will be a classic. The storyline, the imagination, and the actors make this one great movie.

Once again, my doctors don't let me go to the movie theater. So when I buy movies, it can sometimes me hit or miss. This movie was definitely a hit in our house. I picked  up this movie because of the TV advertising. It showed a couple of old men who had bought a lion. Just that one scene intrigued me.

When I first showed my husband the DVD, he said, "What is it?" and "Never heard of it."

He expected to be able to ignore the movie and work on his email and other stuff. Well, the movie hooked him in the first scene when Haley's mother leaves him with his two great-uncles.

If you haven't seen this movie, you should. It shows you the perspective of a life in the late 1940s and early 1950s. Also, when the men tell their stories to the boy, you see the boy's imagination at work.

Did I say it was great? I am glad we bought it.
