As a mother of a 5yr old, going on 16, I am well versed on hair accessories. Let me explain, from the time my daughter could talk, about 9mos, she voiced her likes and dislikes on everything. She especially hated hair accessories. They either pulled, or didn't stay in, or weren't pretty enough, you name it, she complained about it. Naturally when she decided to cut her hair short, I was thrilled!
Well, we have entered another chapter of her hair saga. About 2mos ago, she decided she not only wanted to grow her hair out but also her bangs. I thought, here we go again! On a recent trip to Target I saw the little plastic barrettes like I used to wear as a child. You know the ones, brightly colored with a little dragonfly or bear on them that snap. So we bought some.
Now I have literally gone through dozens of different types of barrettes in an effort to please both my need to keep hair out of my daughters face and her need for style. These are perfect. I tell you, every mom should stop reading this and just go out and buy them now! They hold her hair back all day, even when she is playing at her hardest. I was totally amazed. She loved the different styles that come in the pack and likes to pick a different one every day. She loved them so much, while at the dollar store I picked up some more that were a generic brand. Do not be fooled, Goody is the best. Don't even waste your money on the others.
You get 26 for 1.99 in a little resealable pouch in varying colors. I found them down the large hair accessorie aisle, not the kids section. There are some plain styles, poodles, bears, dragonflys, and I think butterflys. Sure we still have other barrettes she wears on occasion that are a little more fancy but they don't compare.
Did you know that all revenue a review earns monthly is split with the voters that voted for that review each month?
Boy do I understand about the 5 year old going on 16! My daughter, who is now 19, was (and is) the same way! Glad you found something to suit her!
Aren't daughters funny? The relationship with my daughter is totally unique to the one I have with my son. I look for anything I can to bring us closer (even barrettes) because I know one day she won't be my little girl anymore:(
I still use Goody's barrettes - they last forever and they work so well. I had slick hair when I was a kid and these were the only things that could hold my hair back without slipping out.
Thank for sharing the wonderful review. I still use barrettes occasionally.
Nothing beats old school barrets
Oh the memories! I wore these all the time as a kid.
Girls know what they want,no changing their minds-I have one too.
I remember these! :D
