I love to add labels to things. My family used to hate it but now they actually come to me and ask them to do it for them. I used to do it all by hand until my husband bought me the Brother P-Touch Home & Hobby labeler. I am usually very intimidated by electronic devices because I can never remember how to make them work but this was actually really easy to learn. The instructions were very easy to read and follow. If I can figure it out, anyone can.
This is a small hand held unit. The keyboard is set up like a typewriter and not in alphabetical order. It uses both 1/2 inch and 3/8 inch tapes and Brother makes the tape in several different colors which is great for all kinds of projects. It has a digital display which is really nice because I have caught many mistakes before I hit print and wasted tape. What I really like is that it prints both horizontally and vertically. That has been a really valuable feature for me. It has several different styles of printing including bold, shadowed and italic, it prints text in 5 different sizes, it allows you to frame and underline text and even has some common symbols built into it. It
I use mine to label things such as office files, craft supplies, items for identification purposes, my sons drawers in his room so he knows which drawer to put clothes in and even in some of my scrapbook projects. Every year for back to school I sit down with the kids and label all their folders and supplies so they are easy for them to find and stay organized.
The only downfalls to the unit is that it has no spell check, it uses 6 AA batteries and the labels are a little hard sometimes to start peeling. I will say that I have only had to change the batteries once in all the times I have used it so it does take alot of them but it does not burn through them all that fast. I have really enjoyed using this labeler and if tape were not so expensive, I would label even more in my house.
I am a labeling nut - I just wish they could invent a tape that doesn't leave a sticky residue mess behind when the time comes to remove the label.
Thanks for the info :)
I may have to get one of these. I have an old one, but it is not near as nice as this one!
Sounds great, you are so organized!!
I will call you the label queen!!!!

I love this Brother Labeller. It works so smoothly and creates such readable labels. Unfortunately my family liked it too and kept it LOL!
Wow, this sounds like something I really need . I have the old type that has no refills any more. Thanks for this info.
Wow ,everything but a spell check. Everything has batteries.
