Blitz Gas Can has an Interesting New Nozzle

I purchased this Blitz gas can as a gift for my husband. We have mostly used the old-fashioned flex nozzle gas cans. But when I saw this I thought it was a pretty ingenious design.

First, you do not have to mess with pulling the nozzle out of the can, repositioning it, and risk getting fuel on you. The only thing that must be done prior to fueling or filling is to remove the transport stop cap. No mess, no fuss, which is really nice.

Second, the nozzle on the new Blitz gas can is designed to keep the fuel in the can until you apply pressure in the filler tube. The outer yellow nozzle is what makes the delivery system work. So far, so good.

Third, there is no relief valve on the Blitz can. So, there are no plastic tabs to worry about breaking. The relief comes from the nozzle itself. We have another can with similar relief, which does not work near as well (hence the replacement). When we use that can the fuel just trickles out and takes forever to fill with. We have not had that problem with the new Blitz can design. The fuel flows smoothly and stops when the valve shuts, just as it should.

Fourth, Blitz has a 1-year free replacement warranty on this gas can. The way I see it if the gas can works well for one year, we really got our money's worth out of it.

I like the new design and it is easy to use once you get the hang of it. The nozzle is constructed well and only dispenses when the valve is opened. The holding tank itself is very solid and seems particularly durable. I think Blitz did a good job on this one!

  5. That seems like a really well designed nozzle. It's amazing at what such a big difference a small part makes. We'll definitely look for that type of gas can as our can pours kinda funky where it pours fast & then super slow & splashes a lot.
