My Experiences:

I'm always on a quest to find a hair product that will smooth my wavy hair. I find that if I ‘layer' products on my hair, I get the best results, because one product never does it for me. I work in a hair salon, and one of the sales reps left a tube of Joico Silk Results Straight Smoother for us to sample. Instead of using it on my clients, I decided to test it on myself so I could have firsthand experience with the product.

After I shampoo, I blow-dry my hair until it's damp-dry. Then I distribute the Straight Smoother (which is creamy) throughout the hair, and finish drying my hair with a big round brush, from the base to the end of the hair shaft. This really helps to rid my hair of the waves, and tames the frizzy look. At this point, I could go about my business, and not do anything more to my hair. But, since I like my hair super straight, I follow the blow-dry with a flat iron. I do use another hair product during the flat ironing, but it isn't necessary. You will still get a nice smooth result by just using the Straight Smoother, but I'm a bit obsessive about getting it as straight as possible, thus, the ‘layering' of products.

The Joico Silk Results Straight Smoother is a nice addition to the gazillions of other hair ‘aids' I have. Plus, the Joico line tends to be somewhat affordable. You can purchase the Straight Smoother at your favorite salon, and if they don't carry it, ask them to order it for you.
