Donruss Americana Trading Cards

This year the Donruss Trading Card Company came out with a new line of cards called Americana. These are just like baseball cards except they are cards of famous people and celebrities from American history.  These can be found wherever trading cards are sold and the retail boxes have 24 packs at $2.99 a pack.  Each pack contains five cards. Also nice is that each box contains at least one certified autograph or one card with a piece of memorabilia in it.  Pictured are some of the autographs I have gotten from the packs.  While the cards are decent enough it is really the autographs that people want and that have the value.  The cards of of politicians, actors, musicians, a few athletes, and other famous personalities.  people like William Shatner, Burt Reynolds, Larry King, and even real legends like Bing Crosby are included.  They have combination cards with couples like Al and Peg Bundy and Batman and Robin as well.  All of the autographed cards are numbered with a limited print run that varies.  There are also numbered variations of each of the regular cards as well.  These cards have been very popular and Donruss quickly sold out of them.  Sports collectors, autograph collectors, and others have become fascinated with these cards.  A Mike Huckabee autograph card from this set was selling for close to $200 dollars before he eventually was eliminated from the race.  if you are looking for a unique item to collect these cards may be just the thing.

  2. I agree with Lexia, these sound very cool! I had not heard of these and think that they are quite unique and could become very collectible.
