Viva Las Vegas!

Share and Enjoy:

I visited Las Vegas this summer and it was a pleasant experience. However there were some things that I did not expect to happen.

First, the airfare was considerably high compared to other vacation destinations within the same distance. Another feature of Vegas that I didn't find appealing were the vast amount of people handing me random junk on the strip. It was usually cards and magazines for Las Vegas "escorts", aka hookers. This is a big reason why I believe that Las Vegas is definately more of an adult vacation spot, than a family vacation destination. Also, everyone always talks about how you can get really cheap buffets in Vegas. Well the cheapest one I saw was $15, which is still pretty high.

However there were a lot of good things too.  I was there for four days and got about 3-5 hours a sleep a night on average. I got maybe half of the things done that I wanted to do. There is just SOOO much stuff to do in Vegas. I recommend going on the Hoover Dam tour. It is very interesting! Also, the Star Trek Experience at the Hilton was AMAZING! Overall, my Las Vegas experience was fun.

  7. I voted, thanks for the input on your Veags trip. I totally agree with you on the handouts at almost every corner, it's unbelievable. We usually do a buffet and try to catch it at the tail end of of breakfast and the beginning of lunch. A snack in the evening and that does it for us. There is a lot of stuff to see and I definitely consider this an adult vacation. Why would you brings kids who can't be anywhere near the slots or tables?

  14. I would feel weird if people were constantly handing me things about hookers..lol I have always wanted to go though... Maybe soon ...my boyfriend goes every year for the NFL draft. I might go and check it out!

  15. I have a friend who loves visiting Vegas and she is not a gambler. She just loves the shopping and the siteseeing (loved the Hoover Dam). I would love to go just to see the Star Trek Experience though. Thanks for the review

  16. Well, now I definately see why it is an "adult" vacation spot :0) I've never heard of anyone getting ads for hookers before! Bet that one was an eye opener!

  17. Vegas is about a 3 hour drive for us so we've been quite a bit. I've noticed it has gotten super expensive over the years - rooms, buffets, shows - all of it. I agree it is definitly an adult town. We always have a blast though and its one of those places I think everyone, well almost everyone, should visit at least once! You can get better deals in downtown Vegas (on Freemont Street) but the hotels aren't nearly as nice as down on the strip.

  19. I go to Vegas once a year to hook up with family from Hawaii. After 3 days I'm more than ready to go back home! But it IS fun! And you're right, the buffets are ridiculously high in price!
