J.D. Robb has done it again and done it with flare and orginality. While this was an abridged audio book, I throughly enjoyed it. The entire audio was approximately 5 hours long on 5 discs. The narrator is wonderful reader, and highly talented at the accents required in the book. While J. D. Robb typically writes from Lt. Eve Dallas's point of view, there were moments in the book where the view from from the victim.This was a refreshing change and added great interest and intrigue to the entire story. The mystery was great with a few false trails weaved seamlessly into the plot. I felt this book had several key moments for the leading characters and allowed both Eve and Roarke grow. There are several extremely tender moments between the two. My only issue was that since this was an abridged version - there were no cameos by Summerset, Mira, Mavis, Nadine, or Trina. For me, this was a perfect length because it allowed me to travel to and from a destination.I HIGHLY recommend this book. However, if you are a fan of this series and are interested in the other characters, I would recommend getting the unabridged audio or buying book.
