Ripley's Believe it or Not, St. Augustine gets a C
By Alicia Bodine onMost people have visited a Ripley's museum at some time in their life.I recently had the chance to take my family to St. Augustine and visit the Ripley's they have.I have a handicap daughter who uses a wheelchair type device when we have to go on outings that require her to walk too much.I had it in the Ripley's museum and the accommodations were not the greatest. There was 1 elevator that had to be operated by a man with a key.So that meant everytime you were done with a floor you had to call the man and wait for him to come and get you and take you to the next floor. Not only that I discovered that some exhibits would have been missed if you just stuck with the elevator.I didn't want to keep going all the way back to the beginning to wait for the elevator so I had to carry my daughter up and down the steps while my sister and her husband carried the chair. It was an inconvenience.
There was a decent amount of exhibits, but so many things inside of the Ripleys cost more money to use.I found that to be rediculous since we paid a fair amount of money to get in.
Overall, I give this place a C.

We enjoy visiting St. Augustine, but have never gone in that Ripley's. I don't think we will bother now. Sorry it was not a good experience for your family. That sounds like a pain to deal with!
We have one pretty close to my house too and I am not all that impressed. Something you only have to see once. Sorry about the lack of access for your daughter.
