Risk is a very long, hard and entertaining game. Of course if you play with people like me, it takes even longer because I spend so much time on my turn figuring out my moves. The game can be sped up a bit by setting a time limit on people's turns to prevent people like me from taking forever. Whichever way you play, this is an awesome game. The board is a map of the countries that are broken down into territories that players can occupy with their men. When your men take over the whole board, you win (of course you can play a variation where at the end of a certain time whoever has taken over most of the board wins). On each turn, players get additional men to place on the board. After that they can engage in battles to take over another player's territory through combating with dice rolls. The more men you have invading their territory the more likely you will take it over. Of course, a lot of men will probably be lost in the battle, making you weaker from attacks from other players. This game is very strategic but a lot of fun.

I am very familiar with this game and how long it takes to play. Time limit is a must for players who are too thoughtful! :)
