This electric skillet is twice the size of the normal Rival one. It has a nonstick surface that is easy to cook in. You do have to watch out for hotspots. It is cooler around the outside. I use this for everything from pancakes to skillet dinners. It is so nice to only have to clean one dish when dinner is done. The lid is plastic and has a vent on it. You can pick a temperature from warm to 400 degrees to cook on. The plug comes out of the side for easy clean up. Since it has the nonstick finish it is easy to clean. You can not use metal utensils in it. It will scratch the finish. This is a great help in the kitchen. If you have a family larger than 4 people I think you will really like it.
