Rock Band - Fun for everyone!

Reviewing: Rockband Ps3

I went over to a friends house last night for a study break to try out his new game Rock Band for Playstation 3. While I frequently play Guitar Hero I thought to myself that Rock Band would be the exact same concept, and I would only stay for maybe an hour. I have to say that I was completely wrong! Six hours later and a million songs played I must say this game is one of the most enjoyable games I've ever played.

While this game has a similar premise to Guitar hero, the addition of extra instruments makes this game a LOT more enjoyable. The game enables you and your friends to play guitar (lead or rhythm), bass, drums, and vocals all at the same time (1 guitar, drum set, and microphone are included when you purchase the game). I've never had such fun singing in my entire life! Personally I don't think there are many games on the market that has such diverse yet enjoyable multiplayer capabilities.

The game itself comes with 40+ songs from all different generations and genres. The music ranges from Metaillica, to Beastie Boys, to R.E.M. and offers something for everyone. I think the greatest feature of this game is it allows each instrument to be individually set to its own difficultly level. Since I play guitar hero often I set the guitar to expert mode, but since my friend had never played the drums before he set it to easy. This option allows for players of all different skill levels to play together and have a lot of fun!

By the end of the night we had 12 people split into 3 different bands all competing in a rock competition! Its not often that so many people can gather around a television, playing a videogame and have such a good time. I think the game itself is a perfect game to have at a party because it can provide hours of fun, while listening (and playing!) to some great music. I love this game and I would recommend anyone out there to give it a try, I'm sure everyone has dreamed of being in a Rock Band!

My only advice to people interested in buying this game is that it doesn't work well on a small television. If you are playing with all four instruments the icons for each tend to be very small with a small television. I would suggest not to play this game on nothing less than a 21i nch television screen to make sure everyone can see their icons with ease.

My son and I played Rockband on a store display, we both loved it. Sadly it isn't out for Wii so we could not buy it. The good news is I just heard it is suppose to be released with the Wii system in June! Can't wait to get Rockband

Sounds like loads of fun. I think this might be the "game" that my kids play whenever we go to Best Buy.

I think this sounds like a lot of fun... I almost wish we could afford one, except I don't need anything else eating up my time. Someday, maybe! Thanks for sharing your experience with this product!

I didn't really understand how those games work, but your explanation makes it sound like a lot of fun.
