Rock Climbing, boot wearing Boyds Bear!

Sir Edmund Persistence is my adorable little back pack toting, work boot wearing, rock climbing Boyds Bear figurine. This little guy is so detailed in his thick red sweater with a blue elbow patch, thick green socks sticking out of his work boots one with an untied lace, a denim hat with the brim flipped up and a rope wrapped around his left shoulder.

This purchase was made purely out of my love for this piece. The edition that I purchased is the 23 edition, piece number 2211. Sir Edmund Persistence was made from 1996 through 1999 and mine is probably one of the last editions made but that is OK by me!

On the reverse side of the rock that Sir Edmund is climbing is a quote chiseled into the stone that reads (In all caps):

This quote on the back of the piece is rather unique as each Boyds resin figurine has a quote on the bottom this one is no exception. The quote on the bottom of this piece is as follows:

The addition of the quotes by both Calvin Coolidge and Harry S Truman make this rock climbing bearstone a particularly powerful piece. I would imagine that this piece has a special and powerful meaning to each who owns one, as it does for me, regardless of the edition.
