Rockport Clogs for Under $50!!!

Reviewing: Rockport Clogs
Purchased at: Qvc     Price: $44.99 USD

I never used to be a shoe shopper. I'd have a pair of dress shoes, a pair of sandals, a pair of cross-trainers or walking shoes, and a pair of workboots. I no longer need the workboots (a mixed blessing), and thanks to my sister's cast-offs I have more dress shoes than I could possibly need. But I still sought out comfort.

I've tried on Rockport shoes frequently, and am always impressed by their quality and comfort. But I'musually a bit overwhelmed by their price (OK, it's not Manolo-high, but I have a PayLess budget -- and very picky feet!). When I saw these clogs on QVC for $44.99, I had to buy them. They were a "TSV" (Today's Special Value) so if you go to buy them now, you'll pay more, but even with shipping and tax, they came to just over $50, which is a great price for a shoe of this quality.

Although they're clogs, they do have some back support. What's most important to me is that they have great arch support, a low enough heel that I don't step out of them, and some nifty bungee cord that kind of looks like shoelaces that keeps them snugly wrapped around my delicate flower-like tootsies. They came in black, brown, navy, and hunter green, each with a different contrast detail color. I chose green, mainly because I've never had green shoes and I loved the color. I also have to say, every time I wear them at least one person remarks on those "green shoes" which is a new thing for me.

The upper is suede, which is easily brushed clean. The bottom has great tread, which is important here in the northland when we never know what the sidewalk will be like. Although they're not really winter shoes, since your heels are unprotected, they're great in spring and fall, and not bad at all for winter days that don't have much snow. I've been wearing them for the better part of a year now, and they're holding up beautifully.I have narrow feet with narrow heels, so I was a little concerned at having to buy a medium width, but they fit really well, and most importantly, really comfortably; I think the bungee cord helps with that.

If you're looking for sturdy shoes that wear well and are comfortable all day, you can't do much better than Rockport (or Ryka, my other favorite!). And you'd have to really hunt the clearance sales to find a better price for shoes of this quality. I love them, and would recommend them to anyone. And you don't have to get the green ones!
