Rockport Olmstead In Dark Tan By Malcolm on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

The Rockport Olmstead show caught my eye as soon as I entered the shoe store. Smooth lines, great color and Rockport comfort, I was sure these were the shoes for me. After wearing the shoes for two days, I was not so sure anymore.

The Rockport Olmstead shoe is comfortable. I walk for more than 13 hours a day and I have never felt so much as a twinkle of a pain. The arch supports are not too overpowering and the shoe is made just wide enough. I normally wear a size 14, but Rockports are made large, so fellows...you will have to buy these a size down.

The problem I have with the Rockport Olmstead is the material on the OUTSIDE of the show. The leather scuffs super easy and by the end of the second day, the shoes resembled camoflauge due to all the scuffs and nicks.

The price is what you would expect for a Rockport. The shoes, though easily scuffed, are comfortable. But, if you want both style and comfort, the Rockport Olmstead is NOT the shoe for you!

I too have found Rockports to be quite comfortable, and hardy.

I have seen these in stores, and they look very nice. Sorry to hear that they scuff so badly.

I wonder if you could put something on the outside of the shoe to help prevent the scuffing.

I'm sure if you put a leather protective coating after purchase that it would help a bit, not sure how effective though...
