ROLL TOP DESK

I have always wanted a roll top desk. I always thought they were so beautiful and functional. When I was married my husband thought they were a waste of money and wouldn't even consider buying one.
Well when I got divorced guess what was the first thing I treated myself too! Yep went out and bought myself my roll top desk. It has been everything that I thought it was. It is a beautiful piece of furniture that right now sits in my den but could definetely fit in my living room.
I love al the little compartments to keep things organzined. It also has a drawer on each side that fits all my file folders so I even stay more organzied. What I love most about it, I can pull the roll top down and no one can see inside. So if I am being lazy and have papers laying out I can hide it. The other benefit it locks. So if I am going away for awhile I can lock the desk up. Even though it may not look like it, I have had my computer on this deak and it works great. I put the monitor on the top and have had no problems with it.
The only bad thing about it..and it's not really bad but it is made of solid oak and is really heavy. I have to get someonver to help me move it. This is a great desk that I hope to pass down to my grandkids!

I think these desks are great, I love that you can just roll the top down and hide everything at a moment's notice. :o) That's great too that it locks!

Your roll top desk is gorgeous! I love furniture like this, especially those made of oak. If your desk is made of solid oak, it will be around for generations to come. What a great way to treat yourself!
