Rome: Total War is a classic medieval times war game, and one of my favourites. It is set in the time where the romans are taking over the world, and as The House of Julii you have to fulfill the Senates wishes or with enough popularity throw the Senate and take over the world yourself. It is done by turns, which consist of a time period of 6 months a turn, in which your soldiers age, your military marches and your buildings are constructed. This makes the game quite realistic, as things like massive stone walls to encase your city take numerous turns/ years to build instead of being immediately errected. My favourite thing about the game is how, when you move your army to attack another you can chose to play out the battle yourself, whereby you are taken onto the battlefield and strategically have to fight your enemy. Rome Total War has average graphics, the in battle graphics and gameplay aren't very realistic but the view and map of the world is done brilliantly considering the game is a couple of years old.
