Roomba A Bit Of A Bust By DiaperDivaMama on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I had such high hopes for the Roomba. Really....who wouldn't want a cute little robot to scoot around their kitchen floor picking up crumbs and dust? My main issue with the Roomba is that unless I sweep before running the Roomba, it doesn't do a sufficient job. Of course, pre-sweeping sort of defeats the purpose of the Roomba. The dust container is a bit small, though very easy to empty.

My other main issue is that the Roomba is loud. (Well, to me at least...and I have kids, so I thought I had a pretty high tolerance for noise.) The constant sound is just a bit annoying to me, but my younger child won't even be in the room with it when it's running.

Now, it can't be all bad. I haven't returned it, and I do still run it periodically. Perhaps that's because it is kind of cute running around on the kitchen floor. It does pick up some crumbs and dust, so it's not a total loss. If I had it to do over, I'd probably spend the money on a new upright vacuum cleaner.
