This is one of my favorite kitchen gadgets, a very helpful electric device called Starfrit Rotato Potato Peeler Express. Perhaps you have seen it on TV: a potato or a fruit is inserted into the holder, a button is pressed, and ZOOM - it gets nicely peeled within moments. It really does work like that; simply amazing. I did not mind peeling potatoes by hand all my life, but after I got this unit as a (very thoughtful) gift, I fell in love with it.
The peeler has two holders, upper and lower one, that hold the potato in place. The upper one is adjustable, it slides up and down, so you can use the device to peel potatoes of various sizes. Both holders are very sharp, so I would advise caution. Then there is a cutter arm that does the actual peeling. The blade on that one is very sharp as well. The cutter arm can be also moved up and down to accommodate different sizes of vegetables.
As I've already said, I love this gadget. I like the way it works, saving me time and effort, and I like the fact that it can be used on a variety of fruit and vegetables, not only potatoes but also apples, pears, oranges, kiwi, cucumbers, tomatoes, beets - virtually anything, as long as it's firm.

Sounds handy, although I would probably only use it for large quantities of potatoes or fruit to peel. I wouldn't bother setting it up and then having to clean it for only 3-4 potatoes - I'm lazy. :)

OK, I have seen this but I really thought it would not do what it say it does. I am surprised to read that it really does work. I think I will take a second look at it
