Rowenta Dx1700 Effective Iron By AnnB on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

I hesitated before buying a Rowenta iron. My old Black and Decker had served me well for many years. When it died, I was going to replace it with a newer model, but a friend of mine was raving over her Rowenta and how easy it made ironing for her. I was intrigued enough to purchase this model and try it out for myself. I have to say this is the best iron I have ever used! The soleplate glides across fabric so smoothly, and the iron is just heavy enough to do a good job on wrinkles, yet not heavy enough to make my hands ache. It warms up fast - puts out a LOT of steam, and sprays it both horizontally and vertically. You do have to add water to the reservoir frequently when using the steam feature. It also has the important safety feature of shutting off automatically if it is accidently left on. My clothes have never looked better!
