Royal Crosscut Shredder
By Mary60 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011I needed to replace my old shredder ( a cheap one), for a newone. Costco had this with a coupon, and i thought why not get something nicer than the one i had. This shredder does much more than my old one, and will be used in the house. It shreds up to 10 sheets of paper by cross- cut, andshreds CD's and DVD's , as well as credit cards, and diskettes. There are two slots , one for paper and another for CD's and DVD's. The shredding bucket is in the front with a handle for easy emptying. All the buttons are located on the top of the shredder, plus the Royal Shredder comes with casters for ease of moving around the room. As with most shredders it comes with an automatic overload circuit shutoff.
I have only used this a few times, but i think its going to work out good for me. Its shreds faster than my other one and a i like the basket that holds alot of shredded documents. This shredder is a bit loud when shredding, but i think they all are. I do think this is worth the money i paid for it, never mind the return policy of Costco.
Update On Apr 20, 2010: This has been so helpful during this tax time. I'm able to shred papers that i don't need and thus protectmyself (hopefully) agaist Id theft. For the cost it does the job great!!

i just recently got my first paper shredder for christmas. yours seems to bit somewhat better as it can shred dvds as well. i never though of the concept of shredding dvds with a paper shredder. mine does have a slot for shredding credit cards though.
Oh, boy; I'm still shredding my mail and old documents by hand. I need to get one of these. Thanks for the great review.
