Rubber Maid makes good stuff and this container is no exception. I use it to store cereal and chex mix but it would also serve well as a flour, sugar or salt canister. And, unlike canisters, this has a great seal that keeps moisture and bugs out. Come to think of it, they would be great on camping trips to keep anything from cereal to socks dry. They are big enough to hold two full boxes of cereal and are shaped with a recessed side for easy gripping. They also have a "lid within the lid" so you can pour from them without taking off the entire top. They could also be used to store small toys like legos or marbles, etc. Just another great container from Rubber Maid. I got mine at Wal Mart for about $6.00 or $7.00. Try one and see what you think.
