Rubik's Cube By The Defier By TheDefier on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Perhaps mankind's greatest logical toy - the Rubik's Cube. We all know what it is : an annoying little 3x3 cube which teases those who cannot solve it and gives praise to those who can.

The Rubik's Cube is a puzzle in which the player must place all color tiles on the same face (all 9 red tiles on one face, all 9 green tiles on another face, etc.) Sound simple? Not quite. The Rubik's Cube can be solved through many different algorithms and it is very addiciting to a person who enjoys a brain teaser once in awhile. Some of us can master it in a day, some in a week, a month, a year. I've been fiddling with it for 2 years and have yet to complete it once! But that's just because I don't put effort into learning it's techniques. With a little hardwork, the Rubik's Cube can be solved by anyone...

...which leads me to my point on it's Age Level. I ranked it pretty high as it suitable for all around the age of 13 and above. I've seen whole classes in the 8th Grade already masters of this puzzle competing with each other and I've seen adults studying it around the world. The range of skills necessary for the Rubik's Cube are 3 things : patience, logic and memorization. However, the latter 2 will come if you have the first : patience. By being determined to solve the puzzle, you will be forced to develop logical skills and memorize algorithms leading to a logical workout for your brain. This is why I gave the Rubik's Cube a 5 on it's educational factor... it will expand the knowledge of anyone who plays with it as it requires logical application in order for it to be solved.

It's no question now to you as to why I gave it a 5. The Rubik's Cube... Man's greatest logical toy. And for just $7? You have to get one now...
