Running With Scissors

This is a memoir by Augusten Burroughs.This was a shocking book.I read it quickly and did like it, but did not totally believe it.At times I was disgusted.Some people will not like this book because of its graphic details.Some of the book was funny and the author has a way with words and his descriptions.As I said, I did not totally believe this story.I believe it was based on his life, but perhaps some of the truth was stretched a bit or incorrectly recalled.I just can't believe that some of the bizarre going ons were possibly true.I have to wonder if everything he said about his surrogate family is true.

Would I recommend reading this?Possibly, if you can stand to read about feces and graphic recalls of sexual encounters.
