Ryobi Combo Kit By Kat Mitschke on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I recently started shopping for power tools to use for wood working projects such as bird houses. I have been working with tools for a number of years so felt like I was somewhat knowledgeable about what I needed. I mainly was looking for a new circular saw. The one I had was an old 7-1/4 inch circular saw that weighed a small ton. The tools I chose were a Ryobi Combo Kit which included an 18 volt 2-speed drill-driver, an 18 volt cordless work light, and the best of all - a 5-1/2 in., 18 volt circular saw. This 5-1/2 inch saw is a life saver if you don't have a lot of muscle power. I feel a lot safer with this small saw because I can control it much better. With the three tools there was a battery charger and 2 batteries. The only negative about the kit was that one of the batteries immediately "shorted out". In other words, it would not charge but Home Depot happily exchanged it for me. Ryobi was in the middle as far as price but I feel like the quality is as good as higher priced brands and highly recommend the small saw to all you ladies who like wood working projects.
