Safe Toothpaste For Toddlers By pamarama on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

My son loves to brush his teeth, and we actually have to hide away the Orajel Training Toothpaste so he cannot see it. I have tried it myself, as I usually try any food or health product before I give it to my son. It has a very mild berry flavor, and not even a hint of sweetness. It is a very mild gel toothpaste that is light, and is okay to swallow. He seems to like using it, and it will be good practice for later when he switches to regular toothpaste. He does try to spit it out after brushing, because he sees mom and dad do this. Usually he has already swallowed the small amount I have given him. I do wish that the toothpaste had a bit more power to it, but then it would not really be safe for toddlers. They should make a mint flavored paste, thought.
