Reviewing: Safety 1st Baby Monitor & Movement Sensor
Purchased at: Given To Me

My friend had a premature baby so she bought this monitor because it not only monitors sounds that baby makes, but it can also detect if baby isn't breathing or moving. It has a movement sensor pad that goes under baby's mattress, a sound unit for parent's room, and a sound unit for baby's room. I have always plugged this monitor in; however you have the option of using batteries if you want to take the monitor outside.I like this monitor because you can have both the sounds option and movement sensor option on at the same time or just the sounds option on. This monitor really gave my husband and I reassurance that our babies were okay while they were sleeping and out of our sight. If the sensor pad does not detect any movement (including breathing) from your baby for 20 seconds, the sensor pad sends a signal to the baby's sound unit which then alerts the parent's sound unit. This monitor also has a "tic" option which means that it will make a "tic, tic, tic" sound as long as it detects movement from baby. If it doesn't detect movement, then it will stop ticking. Honestly, the ticking drove me crazy. I much prefer the sound and movement option. This baby monitor is just the best. We have had no problems with it. It was given to me, but I happen to know that these monitors are very affordable.

I think it's so great that they are coming out with new technology for these monitors. I mean to detect the baby's breathing? That is really important but I would never expect that feature in a baby monitor...very cool though! :o) Glad to hear it gave you the piece of mind on your kids while you were away from them.

Your were so lucky to get one of these, I wanted one when my son was born, but we never did buy one as my son and I slept in the living room for the first few months, his crib was set up in hubby and I's room, but my son was a trouble sleeper because both his legs were casted for the diaper to the toes.
