Safety 1st Potty Chair
By Tina Lehman onWhen my daughter began showing signs of being ready for potty training, I picked up this Safety 1st potty chair.I admit that I'm cheap and this was the least expensive option. She immediately took to it and began to use it, so I was happy.
This chair comes in four pieces, not including the lid that is attached to the base.I hate things that come in too many pieces, and this is on the edge. But, it is not very hard to clean despite all the parts. There is a blue foam ring that comes off that makes the seat cushy. It has a little cup on the front that faces downward for girls, and upwards for boys.
It is sturdy and does not slip on the bathroom tile.It doubles as a footstool, which is nice, because my daughter has used it as a stool when going on the big potty.
This potty chair has NO bells or whistles anywhere.I have heard that sometimes fun things like music or fake flushing noises can make kids want to use their potty more. The initial appeal of having her own potty has worn off for my daughter, so perhaps I will be seeking out a new potty with a few bells and whistles because this one now sits in the corner unused.

It sounds perfect! Great find, even if it was cheap! who needs bells and whistles on a potty chair!
That is a really cute little potty and I love that it was so affordable, cuz I'm cheap too ;).
It seems to me like bells & whistles would just create a playtoy rather than a potty. I think I like this one!
The first thing I too will look for is ease to clean and looks like this is very easy to clean too. Thanks for sharing.
Well, we all learned to use the toiled without bells and whistles. Looks cute enough.
Usually by the time mine tired of using the chair, they were more than ready to use the big potty with maybe a safety ring instead. We found potty training very easy. We bought big girl/boy underpants and let the child see them everytime they used the bathroom. For my boys, wanting to wear underpants just like Daddy did the trick.
Great information on a product that new parents will need eventually.
Bells & whistles so to speak, can be very distracting when you're trying to get the main point across....potty.
At least its easy to clean.
