After cleaning up half boxes of spaghetti noodles off the floor for the millionth time, I really wanted something that kept our children out of our pantry. Keeping our cleaners and heavy pans away from our little ones is even more important, and prompted us to purchase a sliding cabinet lock.
This lock goes arond over the two handles of adjacent cabinet pulls and has a sliding mechanism that locks the two cabinet doors together. These work really well in keeping kids out, and are relatively easy to lock and unlock. You do not have to install anything; they just slip over the handles.
I have found that my two year old can manipulate these, and has occasionally slipped the mechanism free but it has only happened a couple times. These can only be used when you have two doors adjacent to one another. In the bathroom where we have only a single door, we have had to come up with another solution for locking this cabinet.
I would recommend these locks because they are easy to use, and work well around little children.

This is a great idea for the kitchen. Whether it be the spagetti noodles, pots and pans or kitchen cleaners, this is a great invention. I used something that locked the doors from the inside when we had kids. Only bad thing about those is that they could still open just enough to get little hands caught inside.

I used these when my oldest son was small. It seemed to keep him out of the cabinets. That is until he learned how to remove the lock...LOL
